Doniece A. Heady, 81, passed away to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at IU Hospital North in Carmel peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born in Elwood, Indiana on February 16, 1943 to the late William and Margaret (Savage) Heller.
Doniece was a loving, caring, inspirational wife, mom, grandma, and aunt. She was a 1961 graduate of Frankton High School. She often enjoyed get togethers with family and friends as her family was her life. Doniece loved to support her husband and son during their coaching careers. She loved also supporting her grandchildren at all of their sporting events. She often enjoyed going to their lake house on Irish Lake and then later Heritage Lake. She had a successful career selling real estate that concluded as an Office Manager with F.C. Tucker.
Doniece was a faithful member of the Avon Christian Church. As a second time cancer survivor, Doniece enjoyed holding fundraisers for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bob Heady; son, Scott (Amy) Heady; grandchildren, Clayton (Cortney) Sanders, Sam (Carly) Sanders, Luke Heady; great granddaughter, Kendall Sanders; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kelly Heady; sister, Judy Pickering.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown. Burial will follow in Elwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of the service on Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society at 11550 N.
