Middletown.....Donald R. White, 85, resident of Middletown passed way at his home, January 27, 2021. He was born in Anderson, Indiana, August 7, 1935, the son of William Franklin and Mary Manilla Bennett White. He was self employed as a farmer and retired in 1993 from General Motors.
He was a graduate of Cadiz High School (1953) and received certification at trade schools for General Motors.
He was a member of the Indiana Folk Music and Dulcimer Society and the Honey Creek United Methodist Church. He was past master at Mechanicsburg Lodge F & AM and a member of St. Luke's Lodge of Franklin, IN. He was a Lay Speaker for the United Methodist Church, a member of the White River Valley Antique Tractor Association, the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, the Murat Shrine, Madison County Shrine Club and the York Rite of Middletown. He had been Scoutmaster for troop 279, Boy Scouts of America for over 39 years.
He had been preceded in death by his parents, his step mother and an infant sister as well as his wife, Elva Sue Hodson White.
Survivors are his daughter Heather Ann Larson (Michael) of Battle Creek, MI, sons Dr. Dan (Carol) White of Elkton, MD and Rodney Lee White of Middletown, step sons, Greg A. Julian of Middetown and Gary S. Julian (Karen) of Anderson, grandchildren: Carrie(Joey) Cooper of Middletown, Molly (Brian) Bergman of Daleville, Devon and Ava Larson of Battle Creek, MI, Aaron White of Elkton, MD, great grandchildren Audrey, Addison and Ada Cooper and Brooks and Wren Bergman.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 30, 2021 at 7:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with masonic rites. Pastor Tim Glidden will officiate.
Friends may call from 4-7 at the funeral home on Saturday with Covid-19 restrictions in place.
