Daleville...Donald ""Bird"" Strange, 70, resident of Daleville, died Friday at his home in Daleville.He was born in Burkesville, Kentucky, June 15, 1934, the son of Charles and Reba Garrett Strange.He was a 1953 graduate of Daleville High School and attended Ball State University.He owned an operated Bird Strange Real Estate for over 20 years as well as Bird's Smokehouse BBQ. He had owned and operated Holt Muffler Shop in Anderson and THE Mufflet Shop in Shelbyville. He was also a contractor retiring in 1994.He was a member of the Daleville United Methodist Church, Indiana Real Estate Association, and the Madison County Residential Builders and Contractors association. He loved Sprint Car racing and NASCAR, the Indiana Pacers, the Indianapolis Colts and IU Basketball.Survivors include his wife of 34 years: Linda P. Hulton Strange of Daleville, sons: Charles ""Chuck"" E. (Carolyn) Strange of Burkesville, KY and Mark A. Strange of Anderson, 1 daughter: Reba Lynn Strange of Daleville and grandchildren: Jessica C. and Sarah E. Strange as well as his special pet: Marco.He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John R. Strange and a daughter-in-law, Robin R. Strange.A Very special thanks to the 2005 seniors and their parents, faculty and staff of Daleville High School. Their kindness and generosity will nenver be forgotten. Also a heartfelt thanks to Ball Memorial Cancer Center, Dr. Ramoui, Dr. John Lee and Ball Memorial Hospice.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am at the Daleville United Methodist Church with Pastor Karen Ottjes officiating.
