Anderson....Donald Edward Howard, 81, resident of Madison County, passed away Tuesday evening at Community Hospital in Anderson.He was born in Anderson, January 3, 1933, the son of R. Earl and Eula Lakey Howard.He was a graduate of Daleville High School and had attended Crossroads Lutheran Church.He was a veteran of the US Navy serving from 1951-1955 in Korea.He had worked at Borg Warner, Nicholson File and Lakey Sawmill and was a member of the UAW.He is survived by his wife: Janet (Goodwin) of Anderson, children: Patti Safford (Randy) of Anderson and Vicki Chase (Jeff) of Anderson, brothers: Earl(Carolyn) and Richard Howard, sister-in-law: Nell Howard, grandchildren: Jason Vandergrift, Chris (Julie) Vandergrift, Adam Chase, Holly (John) Brendel ,Autumn Chase, and Brooke Safford, Great grandchildren: Jackson Brendel, Cooper Brendel, McKenzie Garvey-Chase, Madison Johnson, Mason Vandergrift and several nieces and nephews.A celebration of Life will be held on Friday at 2:00 PM at Ballard & Sons, 118 South 5th, Middletown, with Rev.
