Daleville...Delsie Alyne (Garrett) Melton, 92, resident of Daleville, died Monday morning at Miller's Merry Manor in Chesterfield after an extended illness.She was born in Burkesville, Kentucky, October 3, 1912 the daughter of Ellis and Pearl Garmon Garrett.She had been a homemaker all of her life and had lived in Daleville for over 62 years.She belonged to the Avondale Sympathy Club, Daleville Lioness Club, Daleville Baptist Church, Young at Heart Club of Anderson, Willing Workers Club of Muncie and the Single Prominators of Muncie. She also worked on election day at the polls in Daleville.She was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 1977 and son: Bill in 2000.Survivors include children: Frances (Richard) Jervis of Anderson and Robert (Sue) Melton of Middletown, sister-in-law: Louise Garrett of Daleville, grandchildren: Greg Melton of Muncie, David (Heather) Melton of Eaton, Steve Melton of Georgia, Mark Melton of Middletown, Tammy (Dean) Doto of Middletown, Lisa (Joe) Schmitt of Daleville, Robyn (D.R.) Miller of Pendleton and Rhonda (Scott) Francis of Kansas, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, several nieces, nephews and cousins.Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut Street, Daleville, with Rev.
