Middletown...Delmar Ray Griggs, 66, resident of Middletown, passed away at his residence Monday morning after an extended illness.He was born October 1, 1941 in Henry County, the son of Harmon B. and Katherine Parrish Griggs.He was a 1960 graduate of Mt. Summit High School and retired from General Motors in 1995 after 30 years as a utilityman.He was a member of the Redmans' Lodge of Middletown.Survivors are 2 sons: Kevin Ray Griggs of Middletown and John Griggs of Texas,1 daughter: Judith Lee of Indianapolis, 10 grandchildren; Brandon Griggs of Middletown, Ellen, Thomas, Peter, Daniel, David, John, and Stephen Griggs of Texas, Alex and Jacob Lee of Indianapolis and a very Special friend: Carla Jackson of Middletown, 1 sister: Mary K. (Larry) Romine of Middletown and 1 brother: Bernard H. (Robin) Griggs, Jr. of Honey Creek, several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Richard D. Griggs in 1996 and Gerald Lee Griggs in 1978, his grandparents: Jackson Lee and Sally Dee Gilbert Parrish and Joseph Lee and Stella M. Harry Griggs.Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown, IN with Rev.
