Middletown...Della Irene (Richards) Hayes, 84, resident of Middletown since 1981, passed away suddenly at Middletown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Monday.She was born, October 23, 1922 in Delaware County, the daughter of Zephaniah D. and Hannah Wilson Richards.She was actively involved in the Headstart Program and was lovingly know as ""Grandma Della."" She was a fostergrandparent for seven years.Survivors include: 2 daughters: Virginia (Terry) Moore of Redkey and Tammy (John) Collis of Middletown, 1 son: James (Mary) Hayes of Middletown, 5 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, 1 sister: Pauline Clevenger of Burne, IN.Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Clarence J. Hayes, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev.
