Daleville...David Edgar Shellabarger,62, loving father, son, husband and brother, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday evening at Community Hospital in Anderson.He was born March 29, 1942 in Muncie, the son of Edgar W. and Helen Brown Shellabarger.He retired from Guide Division of General Motors in Anderson where he had worked for over 40 years. He was superintendent of Maintenance.He and his wife Connie, loved being on their houseboat on Dale Hollow Lake with family and friends.He was a 1960 graduate of Yorktown High School and Ball State University where he received his B.A. in Business Administration. He also was involved in the apprentice program for General Motors.He was a member of the Daleville United Methodist Church and the Daleville Masonic Lodge #730 where he served as Master of the Lodge in 1985.He was one of the first town board of trustees members for the town of Daleville and served as Vice President and President for many years. He loved water skiing and was active in antique tractor clubs. He was also an avid SCUBA diver.He is survived by his wife of 43 years: Connie Jean (Massey) of Daleville, 3 sons: Jay (Joan), Rick, and David Andrew (Jaima) all of Daleville, mother: Helen Shellabarger of Daleville, 7 grandchildren: RuthAnne, Jennifer, David E., David C., Emily Shellabarger all of Daleville, Kassie and Colton Shellabarger of Middletown and 1 step grandchild: Taylor of Daleville, 3 sisters: Karen Davis of Cary, NC, Julia (Ken) Masiongale of Muncie and Nancy Shellabarger of Muncie, several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father Edgar and 1 brother: John.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday at the Daleville United Methodist Church in Daleville with Pastor Karen Ottjes officiating.Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Daleville.Friends may call on Sunday from 2-5 and 6-9 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut St., Daleville with Masonic service held at 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
