David ""Dave"" Kendall Mercer, 65 of Anderson, passed away on September 3, 2016 at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital, Indianapolis. David was born on April 23, 1951 in Morris, Illinois to the late Hayden and Dorothy (Decker) Mercer. He owned, trained and drove harness race horses and was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Vietnam. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Anne Danielson; children, David Kendall Mercer (Lisa), Riverton, IL and Chrissy Altomare (Paul), Carbondale, CO; 4 sisters, Cheryl Komnick (Don) Plainfield, IL, Michelle Mercer, FL, Lucille Miller, Pontiac, IL, Nancy Doherty, Tampa, FL, 2 brothers, Steve Mercer (Sarah), Kempton, IL and Mitchel Mercer (Lea) Pontiac, IL. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Paige, Skylar, Layla and Austin. Poppo says, ""just checking"".A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 3529 N. CR 500 E., Anderson. Friends and family may call at 3529 N. CR 500 E. Anderson from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday with Rev. Gary McManus officiating.
