Middletown....Darci Diane Hill (Vannatter), 58, resident of Middletown, passed away on Thursday morning at the home of her mother.
She was born in Anderson, September 19, 1960, the daughter of Richard and Mary Oliver Vannatter and lived much of her life in the Middletown area.
She was a graduate of Shenandoah High School and received her BA and MA from the University of Indianapolis in elementary education.
She taught Kindergarten, Physical Education, and First Grade for nearly 30 years in the Shenandoah School system. She was a member of the Middletown United Methodist Church, was a director of the Southport Baptist Daycare in Indianapolis, and president and representative for the Indiana State Teachers Association.
Survivors are a daughter: Adrienne Koontz (Lance) of Mooreland, mother: Mary Vannatter of Middletown, brother: Scott Vannatter of Middletown, 2 granddaughters: Karlee and Kloee of Moreland, nephew: Aaron Vannatter and Niece: Aarika (Josh) White.
She was preceded in death by her father: Richard and both paternal and maternal grandparents.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 am at the Middletown Church of the Nazarene, 698 North 5th, Middletown with Pastors Tim Glidden and Marty Ballard officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery, Middletown. Friends may call on Tuesday from 3-7 PM at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Darci Hill Scholarship fund through the funeral home.
