Anderson...Daniel Miller Edwards, 86, resident of Anderson, passed away Tuesday afternoon at St. Johns Medical Center after a brief illness.He was born in Elcorne, KY, March 18, 1920, the son of Twyman and Josephine Johnson Edwards.He retired in 1981 from Delco Remy in Anderson after 40 years where he had worked as an inspector.He was a veteran of WW 2 serving in the US Army receiving the Purple Heart and two bronze stars.He was a member of the VFW #266 of Anderson, the UAW Local 662 and the Upper Fall Creek Church of the Brethern.Survivors include his wife of 66 years: Lula Ellen (Chandler) Edwards of Anderson, 1 son: David C. Edwards (Barbara) of North Webster, 3 daughters: Betty VanMatre of Anderson, Barbara Mills (John) of Pikesville, NC and Virginia Roland (Kenneth) of Sarasota, FL, 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, 1 sister: Marie Ridenour of Ft. Myers, FL.Besides his parents he was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters.Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:00 at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Revs. Ryan VanMatre and Marty Ballard officiating.Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery, Middletown.Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 PM.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Johns Medical Center.Online Guestbook at: www.ballardandsons.com
