New Castle...Dana Lynne Griffin Harter, 50, resident of New Castle, passed away early Tuesday morning at St. Vincent Heart Center in Indianapolis.She was born in Anderson, January 10, 1966, the daughter of Thomas F. and Effie Alice Walters Griffin.She was a 1984 graduate of Shenandoah High School and worked for Citizens Bank for nearly 30 years.She was a proud Marine Corps mother and wife.Survivors are her husband: Jim USMC and local auctioneer of New Castle, her mother: Effie Alice Griffin, sons: CPL. Jacob Harter, USMC and daughter: Lance CPL Chassey Harter, USMC, 2 aunts: Roberta Rice (Don) and Ann Moore, both of Middletown, 2 uncles: Kenny Phil Walters of Colorado and Jerry Whinegar of Middletown, father in law: Bill (Patsy) Harter of Springport.A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Pastor Marty Ballard of the Yorktown Church of the Nazarene officiating.Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery, east of Middletown.Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of the service.Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and the Boy Scouts of America.Online Guestbook at: www.ballardandsons.comThe Ballard family is honored to celebrate the life of Dana Harter with family and friends.
