Dale E. Weiss, 64, of Daleville, Indiana went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 6, 2023.
Dale was born in Richmond, Indiana on February 13, 1959. He graduated from Daleville High School in 1977 and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University in Mechanical Engineering. Dale loved music and was in a rock band called Nightwind in his early 20’s. He was self-taught to play guitar and keyboards and was musically gifted. In 1985, Dale was involved in a diving accident that left him a quadriplegic. Dale has gone through many medical issues through the years, but it did not stop him from being active in church, teaching Sunday School and singing songs he had written. Early in life Dale worked for his parents in Weiss Machinery. He was a mechanic, worked in parts, drove the semis to deliver and pickup equipment. With years of working with Case Construction Equipment, Dale’s knowledge was vast in knowing how to rebuild engines, cylinders and all the intricate works of the equipment. Since 2001, Dale has worked with customers in 12 countries and all over the United States helping them with their Case equipment. He would spend hours on the phone explaining in detail all procedures to his customers to ensure each step was taken and completed in the proper order. He was well known on a national parts salvage network as the expert in Case Construction Equipment.
Most of all, Dale loved Jesus Christ. Dale was a selfless, devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend and loved by all who knew him.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Donna Weiss, and his brother-in-law, Mike Myers.
He is survived by his sisters, Debbie Myers, Barbara (husband Duane) Jackson and Brenda (husband Mark) Jordan; nephews, Kyle Jackson, Chris Myers, Brad Myers, Adam Jordan, and Austin Jordan. He had many dear aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A special thank you to Dr. Steven Rousseau, Dr. Najmul Siddiqui, Dr. Rajeev Mehta, Dr. Morgan Langhofer, Dr. Matthew Dewitt and all the nurses and techs at Ball Hospital; Paradigm Hospice Care and his special aides at ISS (Tracy, Heather, Shanna, and Jennifer).
The funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Monday, December 11, 2023, at Ballard & Sons Funeral Home at 8212 W Walnut St., Daleville, Indiana with Pastor John Crisp and Pastor Mike Barker officiating. A burial will follow at Saunders Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service time from 10am – 12pm.
