Middletown...George Dale Green, 84 resident of Middletown, passed away Monday at St. Johns Medical Center in Anderson.He was born in Knightstown, IN, September 30, 1924, the son of George Clinton and Opha Moffett Green.He was a 1942 graduate of Knightstown High School and a 1947 graduate of Ball State University.He married Harriett J. Hopkins on September 27, 1952.Mr. Green taught in area school for over 39 years including: Knightstown, Mt. Summit, Anderson Highland, Middletown, and Shenandoah High Schools.He coached boys and girls basketball, baseball, cross country and track. Mr. Green was always proud of the academic and athletic accomplishments of his students.He served as President of the Shenandoah Board of Education for 12 years, and was President of the Dietrich Park Board in Middletown for many years.He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Knightstown.He was preceded in death by his parents, his three sisters: Almira Stevens, Mary Eggers, and Annabelle Siders and a grandson: Michael L. Green.Besides his wife he is survived by his children: Gary Dale Green of Middletown, Ron (Lisa) Green of Middletown, Kim Casstevens (Jeff Freeman)of Middletown and Kevin (Mary Jane) Green of Munster, IN, 7 grandchildren: Susan (Jeremy) Dunn of Indianapolis, Jessica Green of Middletown, Elizabeth, Daniel, and David Green of Munster, Jarren and Collin Casstevens of Middletown and nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at the Middletown Church of the Nazarene, 698 North 5th, Middletown on Saturday at 2:00 PM with Rev. Marty Ballard and Dr. Philip C. Rogers officiating.Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.Friends may call at the church on Friday from 3-9 PM.Memorials may be made to the Shenandoah Dollars for Scholars and the Middletown/Fall Creek EMS.Arrangements have been entrusted to Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, Middletown Chapel.Online Guestbook at:
