Courtney Oliver Jr.

Courtney Oliver, Jr., 83 died Saturday, September 21, 2024. Jr, as he preferred to be called, was born May 7, 1941 in Spiceland, IN to Courtney and Uphama Oliver.
Jr. graduated from Middletown High School in 1959 and began working as an electrician at Delco Remy shortly afterwards. He retired after 47 years. Jr. also spent several of those years as a trainer for General Motors Programs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; infant daughter; brother, Russell Oliver; sisters, Edna Wible and Belva Shaw.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Craib; daughter, Lori (Scott) Rednour; son, John (Tabitha) Oliver; granddaughters, Maria (Todd) Hancock and Halie (Keith) Hinsey; grandsons, Joseph (MaKala) Rednour and Michael Abshire and several great-grandchildren.
Jr had lots of hobbies including woodworking, photography, and travel. He especially enjoyed helping others and will be sadly missed by many.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00-6:00 pm on Monday, September 30 2024 at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition at a later date.
