Chesterfield...Clayton ""Jeep"" Lovett, 88, resident of Chesterfield, passed away Monday afternoon at his residence after an extended illness.He was born in Middletown, June 5, 1921, the son of Ross and Sally Hodson Lovett.He was a 1939 graduate of Middletown High School and retired in 1986 from Guide Lamp of Anderson.He was a member of Pleasant Valley Christian Church since 1938 and taught Sunday School for many years.He served as clerk/treasurer for the town of Middletown serving eight years.Survivors include his wife: Joan of Anderson, 3 daughters: Connie (Paul) Harsin of Lebanon, Patty (Eddie) Jones of Surprize, AZ, and Judy (Virgil) Hall of Middletown, 1 sister-in-law: Joyce Lovett of Calhoun, LA, 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev. Marty Ballard officiating.Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery, East of Middletown.Friends may call on Thursday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Valley Christian Church, St. Johns Hospice, or Gideons International.Online Guestbbo at:
