Charles William Winegar

April 1, 1928 — August 10, 2020

Charles William Winegar 92, resident of Middletown passed away at St. Vincent Medical Center after an extended illness.

He was born in Rogersville, Tennessee the son of Edd and Nealie Winegar.  He retired from Delco Remy after 44 years.  He spent some of those years working in diecast, plant 7, while also farming.

Charles was baptized at Hickory Cove Baptist Church in Rogersville, Tennessee on May 20, 1945.  He was a loving father, grandfather, and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Besides his parents, his brother Cleve Winegar and his sister Eva Charles preceded him in death.  Survivors: daughters Susan Fredenburg (Larry) and Teresa Winegar both of Middletown; four grandsons Travis Fredenburg (Courtney), Trent Fredenburg (Karen), Dr. Tyler Fredenburg (Natalie), Wyatt Bivens; nine great grandchildren Drew Fredenburg, Alex Fredenburg, Silas Fredenburg, Tate Fredenburg, Gus Fredenburg, Caroline Fredenburg, Gehrig Fredenburg, Elden Fredenburg, Irwin Fredenburg; several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and great nephews  residing in Tennessee; special friends Julie, Levi and Lena, Betty Durr, Cheryl Barkdull, caregiver and friend as well as the great staff at Perkins Restaurant in Anderson where Charles was a frequent customer for many years.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown, IN.  Services will be Friday, August 14, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will take place after the service in the Miller Cemetery, Middletown. CDC requirements of social distancing, hand sanitation and masks are highly recommended .
