Middletown....Charles Ray Melton, 86, resident of Middletown, passed away Monday morning at his residence.He was born in Orange County, Indiana, February 11, 1927, the son of Milton Warren Lola Onins Hawkins Melton.He was a 1945 graduate of Paoli High School and retired as an electrician from Delco Remy/GM after 26 years of service. He worked at Universal Electric for 15 years also.He was a US Navy veteran, Past Master of Middletown Lodge F & AM #271, member of the Royal Arch Mason #143, Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis, UAW Local 662, American Legion Post #216, and the Middletown First Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife: Vivian (Graddy) of Middletown, Sons: Warren R. of Middletown and Ben A. Melton (Merry) of Shirley, five grandchildren: R. Mark Nielsen (Erica) Shelby Melton, Charles W. Melton, Molly Melton and Heidi Melton, two great grandchildren: Hanna Nielsen and R. Mark Nielsen III.He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Olive Southern, Verna Lambdin, Arthur Melton and Albert Melton.Services will be held on Friday at 10:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev.
