Yorktown....Charles Willard Hawkins, Jr, 74, resident of Yorktown, passed away January 1, 2016 at his residence after a brief illness.He was born in Muncie, May 11, 1941, the son of Charles W. and Roxie Langford Hawkins.He was a graduate of Muncie Central High School and retired from Knapp and Volt after 21 years of service in production.He was a US Army Veteran.He had lived in the Yorktown area for over 30 years and was a member of the Yorktown Church of the Nazarene.Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Robert and David.He is survived by his wife of 15 years: Sharon (Baker) of Yorktown, 2 sons: Bobby Hawkins of Indianapolis and James Hawkins of Indianapolis, step children: Brian (Londa) Couch of Yorktown, Teresa Roberts of Yorktown, Jennifer Delk (Joe) of Muncie and Dennis Couch of Yorktown, 9 grandchildren, 9 brothers and sister: Tom, Richard, Philip, Steve, Jeff, Judy, Nancy and Paula.A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the Yorktown Church of the Nazarene, 9001 Arch Street, Yorktown with Pastors Marty Ballard and Brian Couch officiating.Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Muncie.Friends may call Tuesday at the church from 4-8 PM.Memorials may be made to ARF of Delaware County.Online Guestbook is available at: www.ballardandsons.comThe Ballard family is honored to celebrate the life of Charles with family and friends.
