Middletown...Charlene Saunders, 72, lifetime resident of the Middletown area, died Monday evening at St. Johns Medical Center, Anderson from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.She was born in Anderson, April 29, 1930, the daughter of James and Louise Kirk.She retired in 1980 from Western Electric where she had worked for over 17 years.She was a member of the OES #110 of Middletown, aides of the Elks of Anderson, Chesterfield American Legion, VFW of Anderson, Moose Lodge of Anderson, Bunko Card Club and attended Center Chapel Church.Survivors include 2 sons: David(Dianne) Saunders of New Castle and Robert (Jerry) Saunders of New Castle, 6 grandchildren: Christina, Drew, Tony, Jean-Marie, Mary Saunders of New Castle and Josh Peavler of New Castle, 1 great grandchild: Jaclyn Saunders of New Castle, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband Ward, 1 son: Steve, and 2 brothers.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown, with Rev.
