New Castle...Carl Duane ""Barney"" Shook, 61, resident of New Castle, passed away Tuesday at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.He was born in Richmond, June 28, 1950, the son of William A. and Wilma Louise Shook.He was a 1969 graduate of Hagerstown High School and worked as Maintenance Superintendant for Shenandoah Schools for many years.He retired from Dana Corporation and was Sexton of Miller Cemetery for six years.He was a member of the Cadiz Lions Club, Hancock Rural Telephone Nominating Committee, SHS FFA advisory committee, and Harrison Township Trustee Advisory Board.He loved driving a school bus for Shenandoah and was also an avid John Deere fan.Survivors include his wife: Debra (Wyatt)of New Castle, 2 sons: Joshua (Lacey) Shook of Cape Coral FL and Casey Shook of New Castle, mother: Wilma Louise Shook of Ricmond, 3 brothers Randy of Hagerstown, Ronnie of Garrett, and Bill of Pershing, 1 sister: Donna Jean Little of Williamsburg, several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father: William A. Shook and 1 sister: Karen Chapman.Funeral services will be Monday at 10:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown.Burial will follow in Cadiz Cemetery.Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-8 PMMemorials may be made to the Cadiz Food Pantry.Online Guestbook at:
