Middletown...Carl Henry Moreland, 88, resident of Middletown, died July 18, 2005 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie after a brief illness.He was born in Delaware County, May 28, 1917, the son of Garner C. and Beryl Miller Moreland.He retired in 1975 from Guide Corporation after 37 years as a Boiler Technician.He attended Middletown High School and had been a member of the Middletown United Methodist Church since 1950 where he had been active with the United Methodist Men.He was a member of the Middletown Lodge #271, F & AM for over 64 years as well as the Order of the Eastern Star #110. He served 10 years as the Rainbow Pop and was a thirty year member of the Middletown Fire Department. He was a 30 year member of the Middletown Lions Club and was Lion of the Year in 1986. He was a member of the Middletown Conservation Club, UAW 663, and was a 70 year season ticket holder for Middletown Cossack and Shenandoah Raider Basketball. He loved farming, gardening, family and his church.Survivors include his wife of 64 years: Mary Alice (Farmer) of Middletown, daughter: Karla (Jeff) Fridley of Noblesville, son: John H. Moreland of New Castle, 2 grandchildren: Constance McClure of Noblesville and DeLayne (Kevin) Lefevre of Noblesville, 3 great grandchildren: Kevin McClure of Noblesville, Olivia Grace Lefevre and Alexander Lefevre of Noblesville, 1 brother: Harold Moreland of Anderson, Special relatives: Fern Farmer Cottingham of Anderson, Robert (Twila) Farmer of Sebring, FL, Marjorie (Corky) Gillis of Muncie, DeLores Moreland of Anderson, and Juanita Moreland of Muncie, nieces and nephews.Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Clarence and Robert Moreland, 1 sister, Beulah Koontz and 1 great grandchild: Abigail Lefevre.Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown, IN with Rev. Jeff Landon and Rev. Marty Ballard officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery.Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4-8 PM with Eastern Star services conducted at 7:30 and Masonic services at 8:00 PM.Memorial may be made to the Middletown United Methodist Church.Online Guestbook at:
