Bruce Van Alst, 66, of Anderson went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday April 28, 2023 at Community Hospital in Anderson. He was born on September 17, 1956 in New Castle to the late James and Alma (Poer) Van Alst.
A 1974 graduate of Shenandoah High School. Bruce retired from HP Products in 2018 after 25 plus years of service. He enjoyed coaching Little League, riding his Harley, watching the Cubs, cooking and grilling. Bruce loved spending time at family gatherings, his family and grandchildren were his biggest enjoyment. He was a member of the Northview Church in Anderson.
Racing was a huge part of his family and Bruce got the chance to be in Daytona just a few months ago to watch his sons Greg and Matt and Van Alst Motorsports Race Team win.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Teri Van Alst; children, Holli (Josh) Funk, Greg (Christi) Van Alst and James “Matt” (Kristin) Van Alst; grandchildren, Hailey, Cadence, Aiden, Eliza, Colton, Levi, Ryder and Easton; brothers, Bill (Kathy) Van Alst, Gerry Van Alst, Jim (Cindy) Van Alst; sister-in-law, Sherry (Joe) Moore; mother-in-law, Irene Feller; special lifelong friend, Toby (Mary) Jones; along with several extended family and his Van Alst Motorsports Racing Family.

In addition to his parents Bruce is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Mike Feller and father-in-law, Jerry Feller.
Services will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday May 3, 2023 at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown with Pastor Todd Fulkner officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday May 2, 2023 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Funeral Home.
