Brian Keith Carnes, 63, of Anderson passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at his residence. He was born on January 31, 1960 in Anderson a son of the late Cordell Carnes and Ruth Ann (Painter) King.

One word can describe Brian, “Lover”. Brian was a lover of people and really everything in general. Most importantly, he loved his family and especially his three grandchildren. Brian loved and cared for his customers that he served while employed as car salesman. He was well respected and genuinely a good person that just liked helping people.

Brian was known to be very athletic and was a very good baseball pitcher and he played tailback in football while attending Pendleton Heights High School. He also attended Emory College in Atlanta, GA where he studied to be an x-ray technician. In his younger years Brian was a fitness instructor and enjoyed exercising. Brian loved the electric guitar and still played one often. His favorite song to play was “Free Bird”; He taught guitar lessons at Joe’s Record Shop and taught his favorite student, his son, Devan. Brian loved nature and enjoyed the time he spent at Deer Trail Lodge in Ontario, Canada. While there, Brian would take customers on guided fishing excursions and would likely see all kinds of wildlife at any given time.

Brian is survived by his children, Blake Ryan Carnes of Greenwood, Jason Cordell (Tasha) Carnes of Bargersville and Devan Webster (Daniela) Carnes of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Lexie, Jason Jr. and Lena; cousins, Keith and Larry of Painter both of Anderson; mother of his children, Susan (Brett) Gregorio of Dunreith.

In addition to his parents, Brian is preceded in death by his sisters, Andrea Susan Carnes and Shawn Carnes-Keller.

Brian’s services will be private and at the convenience of the family. His final resting place will be in Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Middletown. You may express condolences or share memories of Brian at www.ballardandsons.com .
