Bonnie Lou Ritchie Huxford PhD, HSPP, 78, a resident of Middletown passed away on April 28. She was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 1942, seven minutes ahead of her twin sister Connie Sue, the daughter of Kenneth and Lillian Ritchie.
Bonnie was a ten year 4-H member. She graduated a Sulphur Springs Bluebird with the class of 1961. She graduated from Purdue University in 1965 with degrees in Fashion Merchandising and Textile Technology. She married Herbert Max Huxford and spent the next three years in Verdun, France and Heidelberg, Germany while he served with the United States Army. Spending time both in California and Indianapolis, Bonnie returned to Henry County in 1974. A life-long learner, Bonnie went on to earn a degree in Vocational Home Economics, a masters and an education specialist degree in school psychology from Ball State University, a divinity degree from Anderson University, and finally a PhD in neuropsychology from Ball State University.
She loved spending time with her family, serving Jesus, and the many people that she was able to love and help through her thirty years in private practice as a psychologist.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Colette and Michael Kinnett, mother Lillian Ritchie, twin sister Connie (Kenny) Hall, bonus grandchildren Tony (Bethany) Kinnett and Emily Kinnett, nieces Marcy Ritchie, Julie (Brad) Kirschling, Melissa Ritchie, Kristine (Bob) Miller, Michelle (Jason) Smith, Nancy (Josh) Blocher and fourteen great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Max, her father Kenneth, her brother Steven, and her nephew Jason.
Funeral services will be held on Friday May 7, 2021at 10:00 am at the Middletown Church of the Nazarene, 698 North 5th, Middletown with Pastors Dillan Ketcham and Marty Ballard officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery, Middletown.
Friends may call on Thursday May 6, 2021 at the church from 4-7 PM.
