Daleville....Billy J. Lasley of Daleville, IN, went to be with his Lord and Savior for an eternal visit on November 19, 2016.Bill was born on January 15, 1945 in Mounds, IL. He moved to Daleville in 1983.Bill is survived by his wife Janie Ruth; daughters, Alaina (Randy) Thompson of Yorktown, Patricia of Daleville, Teena (Paul) Garrett of Muncie, Ruby (John) Northcutt of Anderson, one son Billy (Angelica) of Daleville, nine grandchildren, Jesse Williams, Jennifer Ayres, Christian Real, Sierra (JJ) Hernandez, Danny Livingston, Austin Massey, Billy Lasley, Seth Garrett, Zechariah Lasley, two great grandsons, JP Hernandez and Cameron McIntyre, sister Betty Shobert of SC, brother Bob of SC and sister Pam (Dennis) Wooland of Thompsonville, IL, and many nieces and nephews.Bill was preceded in death by his parents and by siblings, JR Lasley of Mounds, Lois Arnsdorff of Hardeeville, SC and Carl (Pud) Lasley of Lone Oak, KY.In his younger years Bill coached Little League and men's fast pitch softball. He umpired for fast pitch for several years and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, including one tour in Nam.He was a member of the Mounds volunteer fire department for ten years and the Mounds Aux Police for 4 years, He attended the First Baptist Church of Daleville until he was too weak to attend. He was a member of the VFW post 266 of Anderson.A Celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut St. Daleville Indiana with Pastor Carl Stone officiating.Burial will follow in Sunderland Cemetery near Daleville.Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.Online Guestbook is available at: www.ballardandsons.comThe Ballard family is honored to celebrate the life of Billy Joe Lasley with family and friends.
