Middletown... .Betty Ruth (Niccum) Whitteberry, 78, resident of Middletown, passed away Wednesday evening at St. Vincent's Regional Hospital in Anderson.She was born in Delphi, Indiana, the daughter of Joseph and Emma Folgman Niccum and was a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School. She had worked at Sear and Roe buck for several years.She served with her husband Rev. David Whitteberry at Nazarene Churches in Dunkirk, Geneva, Huntington, Middletown, North Manchester, Van Buren and Angola.She was a member of the Middletown Church of the Nazarene and taught school in Geneva and North Manchester.She directed youth camps for Jr. High Girls at Shiloh Park for 4 years and was a counselor for over 40 camps in her lifetime.She is survived by her husband: Rev. David Whitteberry of Middletown, sons: Steve (Diane) Whitteberry of Jenison, MI and Bruce (Lynette) Whitteberry of Cincinnati, OH, 5 grandchildren a 1 step grandchild, several nieces and nephews.She was the last of 10 brothers and sisters.A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday at 3:00 pm at the Middletown Church of the Nazarene, 698 North 5th, Middletown with Dr. Philip C. Rogers officiating.Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery.Friends may call at Ballard & Sons, 118 South 5th, Middletown on Friday from 6-9 PM.Memorials may be made to the Shenandoah Ministerial Assistance Fund or the Middletown EMS.Online Guestbook at:
