Mooreland...Betty Ruth (Guard) Burris, 87, resident of ""A Place Called Home"" Healthcare facility in Mooreland, passed away at the facility Monday afternoon.She was born in Pendleton, April 20, 1928 and was a graduate of Pendleton High School, Class of 1946.She lived in Middletown for many years and was a member of the Middletown Church of the Nazarene. She worked at Delco Remy for one year and taught Special Education for Middletown from 1967-1972. She was instrumental in building the special education class in this area.She is survived by 2 sons: Ric Burris of Middletown and Scott (Debbie) Burris of Middletown, 4 grandchildren: Shane, Kyle, Branden and Devon and Great grandchildren: Bristol, Hayden, Reagan, Alexis and Levi as well as several nieces and nephews.She had been preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Mary, June, Bud, Alberta, Pat, Jimmy and Jo, her husband Herbert and her parents and 1 daughter: Lisa.A Celebration of her life will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Dr. Philip C.
