Berniece Leona Doan

Swansea, SC...Berniece Leona Carpenter Doan, 92, resident of Swansea, SC, died Tuesday at her residence.She was born in Madison County, Indiana, October 14, 1913, the daughter of Isaac Ernest and Ella Pearl Horton Carpenter.She retired many years ago from Computer peripherals where she worked in assembly.She lived in Campton, Kentucky since 1967 before moving to South Carolina.She was a member of the Compton First Church of God.Survivors include 8 children: Angie VanTyle (Robert) of Hancock NY, Mary Ann Slocum of Foxworth, MS, Darlene Ellett of Freeville, NY, Bettie Lu Doan of McComb, MS, Alonzo Doan (Esther) of Ontario, NY, Margie Hatton (Gordon) of Campton, KY, Kathleen Doan and Deborah Doan both of Swansea, SC, 33 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband: Floyd William Doan, Jr and 13 brothers and sisters.Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2:00 PM at the Middletown Church of the Nazarene, 698 North 5th, Middletown with Rev. Alonzo Doan and Dr. Philip C.
