Barbara Anne Smith

Barbara Anne Smith, 81, of Alexandria passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at her residence. She was born on April 27, 1941 in Alexandria a daughter of the late Paul and Gladys (Wellington) Duncan.

Barbara was a 1959 graduate of Yorktown High School. Following graduation, Barbara joined the Charles K Bebout Accounting and Tax Services in 1960 and was employed there until her retirement in 2010, completing 50 years of employment. She also worked part-time at Joann Fabrics for 2 years. Barbara enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting and reading.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 50 years, Walter H. Smith; children, Timothy (Jackie) Prevost, Kathryn (Troy) Davis, Tim (Chris) Smith and Jerry (Kim) Smith; brother, Charles (Marilyn) Duncan; sisters, Norma Bickel and Patsy (Gary) Hittson; brother-in-law, Ronnie (Roberta) Smith; sister-in-law, Barb Sydenstricker; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by a daughter, Penny Kidd and son, Danny Smith.

Services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Daleville. Burial will follow at Jones Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be from 11:00am until the time of service on Saturday. Memorial contributions, in Barbara’s honor, may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
