Barbara Deloris Lewis, 86, resident of Middletown, went to be with the Lord on October 29, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana December 15, 1934, the daughter of Claude M. and Opal B. (Douglas) French.
Barbara attended the Middletown Church of the Nazarene until she was no long able to attend. Barbara worked for many years as a CNA in different hospital and health care facilities. She retired to care for her mother and later her husband of 36 years, Kenny Lewis. She was one of nine siblings.
Survivors include five children, three of which stayed with her in her later years :including Glenda Chapin, Donald Branham, and Cheryl Wallen (Larry), The remaining siblings surviving are Randy French (Susan) of Tucson, AZ and Kay Cade of Daleville. Also surviving are many grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Margaret Lynn, Mable Bronnenberg, Lewis French, Madonna Barkdull, Cherrie Dowell and Claude D. French.
At her request there will be no services but the family does wish to thank the Henry County Hospice and the ladies of the church for all their efforts of comfort and care during her illness.
