Middletown...Barbara ""Barbie"" Elaine Hoover, 54, resident of Middletown, passed away at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis Sunday evening.She was born in New Castle, Indiana, January 7, 1959, the daughter of Edward A. and Janice Joan Whitworth Hoover.She was a 1977 graduate of Shenandoah High School, where she was class president and received degrees from Ball State University and Ivy Tech in Athletic Training and Physical Therapy.She worked for Pro-Care Physical Therapy and received a National Award for her work creating ""A Breast Surgery Recovery Program and Health Strategy"".She was extremely active in ""Relay for Life.""She had worked for Community Health Network and was active with the Chrystal Peaks Youth Ranch.Survivors include her father: Edward (Lorbeth) Hoover of Anderson, grandmother: Phyllis Whitworth of Middletown, great friends: Sara Turner of Muncie and Linda Poor of Middletown and many others.She was preceded in death by her mother: Janice.Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Revs. Donna Goings, Jerome Bell, and MaryAnn Randolph officiating.Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, Middletown.Friends may call on Wednesday from 2-8 at the funeral home.Memorial may be made to the Delaware County Relay for Life/Barbie Hoover or the Chrystal Peaks Youth Ranch, 19344 Inner Market Road, Bend, OR, 97701 through the funeral home.Online Guestbook at:
