DePere, WI....Barbara L. (Bobbie) Smith Forney, 77, resident of DePere, Wisconsin, passed away at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Anderson, IN, November 16, 1927, the daughter of Roscoe and Edna Woods Pugsley Smith.She attended Middletown Central and High Schools where she met her husband Wilburn E. Forney.They married on Christmas Day, 1943.She worked as a line worker for Oaks Manufacturing from 1959-1973. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron in 1965.She enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, boating, camping, gardening and traveling in her mobile home with her family.She was a great homemaker and loved canning, sewing and crocheting. She will always be remembered for her quick wit, generosity and love towards all she knew.Besides her husband, she has two children: Wayne E. of Middletown and Francis Benway of South Carolina, grandchildren: Wayne of Indiana, Richard of Ohio, Roscoe of Ohio, Deanna (Richard) Sparrow of WI., Barb Carter of Arizona, Margaret (Scott) Neuberger of WI and step grandchildren: Janet Vibbert, Beth Corbin and Mark Hardegen of Indiana, 24 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, one brother: Thurl (Almeda) Smith, Pendleton.Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Hobart and Harry Smith and 1 daughter-in-law: Gerry Forney,A special thank you to Lise R., Lori H., and Rev. Barbara R. from Visiting Nurses hospice of Green Bay for their love and support.Friends may call on Friday at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown from 4-8 PM.Memorial Prayer services will be held on Friday at the funeral home at 8:00 PM.Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery at a later date.Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Association or the American Heart association.Online Guestbook is available at: www.ballardandsons.com
