Austin Grant Brown

Yorktown.....Austin Grant Brown, 30, former Yorktown resident, passed away on December 23, 2016 following complications from surgery, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands.He was born to Gary W. and Tamera Sue (Wise) Brown on April 20, 1986 in Muncie, IN. He married Juan Ramos on June 19, 2012 in Brighton, England.Austin graduated from Yorktown High School 2005 with honors, Ball State University 2009 Magna Cum Laude and obtained his Masters degree at Sussex University Brighton, England 2011. While at Ball State he was employed at Bracken Library and attended the London Centre in 2006 studying abroad. He worked as the Senior Course Coordinator at Sussex 2012-2016. He had just moved to the Canary Islands in October starting a new chapter in life. Austin enjoyed reading, movies, the "Wizard of Oz" being his #1 favorite, the musical "Wicked" which he saw several times in both the U.S. and England, and Celine Dion, which he met in person in 2005.He is survived by his spouse, Juan Ramos, Tenerife; parents, Gary & Sue Brown, Yorktown; sister. Dawn Hamaker (Tommy) Muncie; brothers, Brandon Brown (Audrey) Noblesville and Aaron Brown, Carmel; grandmother, Portia Wise, Muncie; mother in law, Rosa Ramos Gonzalez, Tenerife; brother in law, Javier Ramos (Yasmina) England; nieces, Kylee Hamaker, Darian Hamaker, Chelsey Hamaker, Megan Buck, Taylor (Sora) Brown, Cece Brown, Iris Ramos and nephew, Devon Brown. He was also survived by three great nieces and several aunts, uncles and cousins.He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Hallie David, grandfathers, James David, Peter Brown and Jack Wise.A memorial service will take place on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 2:00p.m. with visitation one hour prior at Westside Church of Christ 6600 W. Kilgore Ave. Yorktown, IN 47396.A private graveside service will take place at a later date.In lieu of flowers please donate to ARF, 1209 Riggin Rd.
