Arthur Good,passed away Sunday November 14, 2004 at the age of 102, while a resident at the Renaissance Rehabilitation and Health Center in Muncie.He was born near Middletown, Indiana on October 9, 1902 the son of George and Mary (Fry) Good. He married Lois McShurley on October 18, 1924. They lived most of their lives in the Middletown/Sulphur Springs area. Arthur worked as a toolmaker at Delco Remy in Muncie; but spent most of his life farming. He was a seventy-five-year member and Past Master of the Sulphur Springs City Lodge 348 F &AM, a Past Worthy Patron of Sulphur Springs OES and a fifty year member of the Valley of Indianapolis Scottish Rite. He was a former member of the Middletown Lions Club and the Conservation Club. His Sundays were spent in the Sulphur Springs Christian Church and later in the Sixth Street Christian Church in Middletown. He was interested and active in local affairs, served on the Jeffersopn Township Advisory Board and one term as the Jefferson Township Trustee.Survivors include a son-in-law, James ""Jim"" Hedge of Muncie, a granddaughter Susan Ashcraft (husband Joe) of Muncie, a grandson Randy Hedge (wife Maureen) of Pocasset, Cape Cod, Ma., a great-grandson, Chad Ashcraft of Chicago Ill., a great-granddaughter Whitney LeBlanc (husband Jacob) of Muncie, a great-granddaughter, Erica Hedge, of Wilmington, NC., and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Lois, his wife of 73 years; his only daughter Edith Hedge; three sisters; one brother and five siblings that died at birth or at an early age.Funeral services will be at the Ballard & Sons Funeral Home Wednesday at 2 PM. with the Rev. Maynard Powell officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon until 2 PM on Wednesday. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the elevator fund at the Sixth Street Christian Church in Middletown, Indiana. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
