Middletown.....Sarah Marie Gould, 17, resident of Middletown, passed away at her residence Tuesday evening after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Wabash, Indiana, October 12, 1984, the daughter of Mark Howard and Frances Irene Genest Gould. She was a Senior at Shenandoah High School where she was active in the band, Library (Media) Club, and Riley Club. She was a member of the National Honor Society. She had been crowned Homecoming Queen last Friday evening at the Shenandoah Football Game.She attended New Horizons United Methodist Church in Anderson.She loved life, family, and her friends.Besides her parents, she has two brothers: William Mark and James Michael of Middletown. Also surviving are; Maternal Grandmother; Anne P. Genest of Shelbyville, Paternal Step Grandfather: Thomas B. (Marian) Goffe of Monticello; Aunts and Uncles; Patricia (David) Neuendorf of Aurora, Sue Anne (Dan) Neuendorf of Fortville, Cathy (Ivan) Godfrey of Kent, Ohio, Marcia (Paul) VanDyne of Kansas City, Mary Beth (Mike) Slack of Alexandria, VA, David (Luann) Goffe of Monticello, and Debra (Joe) Seaver of Madison, many cousins.She was preceded in death by her Maternal Grandfather: Marcel F. Genest in 1974 and Paternal Grandparents: Myron J. Gould in 1964 and Margaret Gould Goffe in 1985.Funeral Services will be held at the Middletown Church of the Nazarene Family Center, 698 North 5th Street in Middletown at 4:00 PM on Friday with Rev. Steve Holdzcom, Father Christopher Bender, Father Anastasios Gounaris, and Rev. Marty Ballard officiating.A Dove Release Memorial Service will be held following the funeral at Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson.Friends may call at the Middletown Church of the Nazarene Family Center on Thursday from 2-9 PM.Memorials may be made to the Sarah Marie Gould Memorial Scholarship, c/o of Dollars for Scholars.
