Robert "Bob" E. Gillum

Robert “Bob” Gillum, 85, of Daleville passed away on Friday March 17, 2023, at the Waters of Middletown. He was born on January 24, 1938, in Portland, IN to the late Jacob and Mabel (Cordrey) Gillum.

A 1956 graduate of Muncie Central High School, Bob Joined the United States Air Force where he served from 1956-1963. In 2000 Bob retired from Delco Remy in Anderson after 38 years of service. Bob enjoyed Bowling, Square Dancing, Puzzles, Sudoku and watching Baseball especially, the Dodgers. Bob and Madonna spent time camping for many years and traveled to Europe, Hawaii and Alaska.

Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Madonna (Hall) Gillum; sons, Robert (Debbie) Gillum Jr. and Scott (Renee) Gillum; grandchildren, Tylor (Mary) Gillum, Breanna Gillum, Taylor (Seth) Gillum, Kolin Gillum, Hayden Craig and Braelyn Johnson; great grandchildren, William Anthony Laffoon and Waylon Gillum; sister, Martha Oliver along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his brother, Bill (Jeri) whom raised him after the passing of their mother; siblings, Benjamin, Edward, Jack, David, Phyllis, Mary, Della, Shirley, Lois, Ellen and Linda.

Services will be held 1:30 pm on Saturday March 25, 2023, at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home Daleville Chapel with Gary McManus and Karen Ottjes officiating, with burial to follow at Elm Ridge Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service.
