Mary Grace Seavers

Mary Grace Seavers, age 80, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Yorktown Manor. Born on November 29, 1943, in Delaware County, she was the beloved daughter of the late Hugh D. and Mary Opal (Matthews) Howard.

Mary graduated from Royerton High School in 1961. She was first married to Jim Glidden for 14 years. In 1980, she married Eric Seavers, with whom she shared 35 years.

A devoted member of the Full Gospel Temple, Mary found joy and purpose in her faith and community. She earned her dietary degree and served as the head of nutrition at Miller’s Merry Manor for several years. Her dedication and talent extended beyond her professional life; Mary was known for her hard work, her excellence in cooking, and her love for her family.

Mary was a multitalented individual, proficient in many fields, and she took pride in her ability to manage her responsibilities while raising her family. She was an avid reader and found great pleasure in square dancing.

Mary will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Tom (Sabrina) Glidden, Tim (Patty) Glidden, Ted (Cathy) Glidden, Terry (Melissa) Glidden, Erica (Aaron) Lindburgh and Mary Ann Lindburgh; grandchildren, Austin (Amanda) Glidden, Thomas Glidden, James Glidden, Amanda Glidden, Marianne Szills, Jessica (Larry) Threadgill, Tiffany (Chris) Stonerock, Abigail Lindburgh, Nathan Lindburgh, Evan Lindburgh; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; nieces, Cindy (David) Robinson, Cecelia (Bob) Mader.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Mary Howard; sister, Carolyn Philips.

The family would like to extend a special thank you for the excellent care given to their mother to Heart to Heart Hospice and the staff at Yorktown Manor.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 3:00pm at Middletown United Methodist Church at 625 High Street, Middletown, IN with Pastor Tim Glidden officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00pm until the Celebration of Life at 3:00pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Daleville, IN. Memorial Contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice at 2701 West Jackson Street, Muncie, IN 47303. Envelopes will be available at the church.
