Middletown...Kenneth "Kenny" Wayne Perry, 81, resident of Middletown, passed away Saturday at his home after an extended illness. He was born June 22, 1937 in Shelbyville, Indiana, the son of Fred and Ella Mae Sallee Perry.
He retired from building Maintenance with General Motors in 2002 after 39 years of service. He was a US Army Veteran. He was in the second class of EMT's for the Middletown Fall Creek Emergency Unit and served on the department as well as the Middletown Fire Department for over 40 years.
He was awarded a 50 year service pin by the American Legion and was a member of the Middletown Park Board for many years. He drove the bus for Shenandoah Sports teams for several years
Survivors are his wife of 56 years Janet (Goldschmidt) Perry of Middletown, children: Mike Perry (Jill) and Pam Stephenson (Mike), grandchildren: Bradley and Brian Perry, Cody Stephenson (Amy), and Kyle Stephenson and pending great grandson: Gunnar Michael, siblings: Glenn Perry and Wanda Rice, several niece and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Fred, Ralph, Art and Norman Perry.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown, with Marty Ballard officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery in Middletown with full military honors.
Friends may call from 4-8 Wednesday at the funeral home.
