John Carroll Ballard

Chesterfield...John Carroll Ballard, 71, resident of the Anderson/Chesterfield area, passed away Wednesday at Countryside Manor in Anderson after an extended illness.He was born in Anderson, February 2, 1938 the son of Chauncey and Mabel Laurie Ballard.He retired from General Motors in Anderson in 1990 after 30 years of service.He was a US Navy Veteran.He was a member of the National Street Rod Associaition and the Indiana Street Rod Association and love to work on cars especially his 41 Willy's Coupe.Survivors include his daughter: Kelly Jolyn Ballard of Anderson, 2 sisters: MarySue Malick of Noblesville and Sue Vest of Anderson and 2 brothers: Rick Plant of Columbia, IL and Thomas Ratikan of Wasbash, 2 grandchildren: Lance Lorraine Ballard and Xavier John James.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with full military rites.Cremation will follow.Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 PM at the Middletown Chapel.Mmeorials to the American Cancer Society.Online Guestbook at: www.ballardandsons.com
